In September, we’re launching our ‘Show your Hand’ campaign – an initiative designed to encourage FLT operators and their colleagues to ensure clear communication and reduce the risk of collisions.

The message is simple, we’re asking drivers to raise their hand to those on foot if they are getting too close to their lift truck, to indicate that they should stop. If they fail to do so, the driver will stop the truck, to ensure any potential accidents and injuries are avoided.

Despite raised awareness of the need for pedestrian segregation, collisions continue to be the leading cause of workplace transport accidents, so there’s work still to be done to ensure avoidable injuries are prevented.

Coming this ‘Safetember’…

The campaign will be launched during Fork Lift Safety Month in September but it is hoped its impact will be long-lasting, filling the void for a standardised approach to interactions between operators and their colleagues on foot.

Its simple, universal, easy to enforce message should make it an ideal tool for any site to adopt.

Free campaign kits!

To help you introduce and promote this simple message and improve site safety, we are giving away free ‘Show Your Hand’ Campaign Kits. These contain everything needed to spread the message on your site, including exclusive posters and videos for presentations or toolbox talks.
