We’re proud to report our Commercial Director, Adam Smith, is taking on this year’s London Marathon while raising vital funds.
Adam set himself the fundraising target of £2500 for Breast Cancer Now, to support the organisation’s ongoing research into improved treatments. He has already exceeded his goal through the kind donations of friends, family, colleagues, and individuals from businesses throughout the MHE industry.
Taking on the challenge is deeply personal for Adam. He explains, “I will be running the historic London Marathon in memory of my sister, Louise, who sadly passed away in 2017 as a result of breast cancer.”
Despite his determination, Adam’s place in the marathon arrived unexpectedly and with little preparation time. He says, “My original application was initially unsuccessful, so I was placed on a waiting list. I assumed I wasn’t going to be running the race. Fast forward 6 months, I received a call offering me a place just six weeks before the event. It was an offer I couldn’t turn down, so I put down the crisp packet and picked up my running shoes”
With the race fast approaching, Adam is now focused on both completing the challenge and making a meaningful difference through his fundraising.
The entire Mentor team are wishing Adam the very best of luck for the race!
