As part of the Fork Lift Truck Association’s ‘Safetember’ safety campaign, we’ve launched a helpful resource to aid managers and supervisors overseeing lift truck operations to formalise and document safety checks.
Managing Forklift Operations: Manager’s Checklist and Best Practice Guidance Notes, developed in association with the FLTA, will be formally launched at the National Fork Truck Safety Conference in Loughborough on 23rd September, with a free copy for all attendees.
Although daily checklist resources are widespread amongst operators, this is believed to be the first specifically developed to take managers and supervisors through the essential checks necessary to maintain safe forklift operations. The checklists provide a structured approach, from operators and equipment to risk assessments, and alongside these, the pocket-sized booklet includes best practice guidance and useful contacts which may be required during the space of a shift.
