We are thrilled to announce the launch of two brand new support services for companies who have their own in-house forklift instructors. Our Instructor Selection and Monitoring Assessments are both available now to help employers ensure that internal training meets the required standards from day one and continues to do so, for the long term.
Instructor Selection Assessment
Designed to aid employers with their candidate selection process, this assessment helps potential instructors to better understand the associated responsibilities of the role and whether they have the essential skills required.
To confirm the candidate’s practical capabilities, one of our experienced tutors will refresh their knowledge before testing them to the operating standard required at instructor level. They will then turn their attention to the further skills required to deliver operator training. The tutor will provide an overview of what is expected of candidates during the 10-day instructor training programme, to give them an insight into elements such as classroom lessons, prep work and the communication techniques required.
This one-day assessment will help employers (and candidates alike) to confirm whether an individual is operating at the required level and has the necessary characteristics to become a successful instructor, before enrolling them in comprehensive instructor training.
INSTRUCTOR MONITORING ASSESSMENT
To help employers confirm that internal training and testing meets the current accredited standards, an experienced tutor will assess an AITT, RTITB, NPORS or ITSSAR registered instructor’s delivery of forklift operator training.
Delivered during a one-day visit to site, the instructor’s course delivery, methodology and standards will all be assessed in-line with accredited training and ABA testing standards. Our tutor will play the part of the delegate, to allow impartiality during the training session and, once complete, they will provide same-day feedback. This will then be followed up with a completed audit report to provide the employer with confirmation that standards are being met.
With instructor re-registration required every five years, this can be a highly useful tool between re-reg periods that will help you to ensure safety and compliance within your business.
